In Buddhism, women aren't considered inferior to men. They thought men and women were both equal in society. Husbands and wives were expected to share their responsibilities equally. Buddhism has never restricted opportunities in education or religion from women, and accepts that every one, no matter what physical differences, are capable of realizing the truths of life. Women and men both have an equal position.
